A boy asked his teacher:

“What is the point of living?”

The teacher asked the boy to walk with him to the river.

“Tell me, why does this river exist?” said the teacher.

The boy looked at the water, followed its flow and then answered:

This river holds life inside and around it. Its current carries nourishment and allows plants and animals to develop and thrive.

The teacher said: “Just like the river, your presence in this world allows the current of the divine to materialize through your actions. It nourishes the life you carry inside and the life of those around you. This is the point of living.”
